Air Fryer Oven Classic Cheese Scones - HYSA KITCHEN
220g self-raising flour, plus extra for dusting
pinch of salt
pinch of cayenne pepper
1 tsp baking powder
52g chilled butter, cut into cubes
120g mature cheddar, grated
95ml milk, plus 1 tbsp for glazing
1. To make sure the ingredients are thoroughly combined, sift the flour, salt, paprika, and baking powder into a bowl.
2. To make crumbs, add butter to the bowl and stir with your fingertips. 100 grammes of cheese should be added to the crumb mixture, then combined to spread it evenly. Try not to mix too much to avoid melting the butter from your hands' heat.
3. Create a well in the middle of the mixture and add just enough milk to create a dough that is soft but firm. You might not need all the milk to achieve the desired consistency, so avoid adding it all at once.
4. Lightly flour a surface, then roll out the dough to a thickness of about 2 cm. Scones should be cut out using a medium (8 cm) knife. Scones should then be placed on a piece of parchment paper, lightly covered with milk, and dusted with the remaining cheese. Slide the hot oven tray over.
